Counter Strike New Revealed
Valve finally announced Counter Strike New after weeks of speculation. It's a major upgrade to CS:GO which will bring it onto the Source 2 engine.
It also introduces the ability to use smoke grenades that respond and sub-tick updates for servers. It's got a lot of armchair gamers going crazy but it looks like a huge upgrade for regular players.
Smokes
Counter Strike New has a massive update that will alter the way smokes work in the game. These changes, known as responsive smokes, are a game changer. Smokes will expand to fill in areas and move around objects on the map. They will also react with the lighting of the games, making them look more realistic. Smokes will also interact with gameplay events. This will create new tactical opportunities. Bullets, for instance, will push smoke to temporarily clear sightlines. Hex grenade blasts will also disperse smoke occlusion.
The biggest change to smokes is that they will now be a more dynamic part of the game. Smokes in previous versions were a fixed object with a limited ability to move and blocking. The smokes are now able to expand to cover the space they're in and will take up more of the player's view when they are within the area. This is a significant improvement that will make the game more exciting and provide both teams with the same visibility.
Smokes react to the light and weapons as well as the surroundings of the world. This will make the smoke feel more real and allow players to utilize it in various ways to gain an advantage over their opponents. This will especially be useful during the chaotic 5v5 battles which are bound to occur on every map.
Smokes won't be one-way that was a major problem in CS:GO and allowed players to view their opponents' positions from behind the smoke. Twistzz is a well-known CS:GO pro, says that the new system is an enormous improvement for competitive CS2 and will make it more fair for both teams.
Other minor enhancements include moving smoke particles vertically to minimize the visibility of edges, and updating the spectator's smoke overlay visuals so that they match their camera's location. The expiration time of smokes was changed to match the visuals displayed on screen.
Loadouts
Players of CSGO can now alter their weapon choices prior to the start of every match. The new loadout system lets the players to choose weapons that match their playstyles and team strategies. The updated system adds new depth to the game because players must balance the power of their weapons and their utility.
In addition to the brand new loadouts, the CS: GO update includes many other improvements and changes. Most important, the purchase menu has been completely overhauled. The old buy wheel has been replaced by an adjustable grid that shows all available purchase options simultaneously. The grid has been filled with five pistols as well as five "mid-tier" weapons like submachine guns and shotguns, and five carbines and rifles.
The new system is easy to use and gives players greater control over their weapon selection. It will let them select the weapon that best suits their style of play and team strategy the best, aswell as experiment with different combinations. It will also enable them to test out their abilities against other players' loadouts and find out how they compare.

Many players have praised the increased flexibility while others have criticised it for straying from the fundamental premise of Counter-Strike. They also expressed concern over the impact it will have on map-specific loadsouts and agent's skins dependent on visibility.
However, despite these criticisms however, it is important to note that the new loadout system is in its infancy and will undergo more thorough testing over the next few months. Certain of these issues may be addressed in future updates. It is important to stay informed for more details.
In addition to the new CS: GO features, the update also comes with Workshop Tools, which can be turned on in the game's settings menu. They allow community contributors to design weapon finishes, stickers, and maps. Additionally the update will live ban players who break the rules of VAC during matches.
case opening update is scheduled to be released in the coming summer. Players can now check out the full list of new features and upgrades by visiting the official CS: GO site.
Sub-Tick Updates
The server updates the world of Counter-Strike in short intervals of time referred to as ticks. Valve wants to ensure that CS: GO is fast and smooth. The smallest delay can alter the accuracy of an attack. A new video shows one of the game's biggest improvements under the hood, referred to as sub-tick updates.
Instead of the 64-tick update that occurs every millisecond, CS GO will now be able make use of sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. The client will keep track of each of tiny increments and then send them to the server. The server will transmit the updated game state back to players. The servers will now know exactly moment when you shot and jumped, swung, and other inputs.
The video doesn't go over everything. However it does state that every piece of data sent by the client is accompanied by a time stamp and that the server will gather all information in chronological order from all players before sending it back. According to the video the CS: GO server will now be able to send up to twice as much data as a 64-tick servers.
That means that when the game's tick rate goes up to 128 Hz, it will be able to process your commands instantly and continuously. Micro-tick updates also decrease the time it takes to input by making sure that the server responds to your actions without glitches or delays.
It's evident that this is just the beginning of the technical improvements Valve is making to the game. The company is implementing dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve how smoke interacts with the surrounding and is also upgrading all of the maps with high-resolution textures, lighting, and models. Source 2 tools and features will be used to make changes to all CS: GO cosmetics and weapons.
Maps
The new update coming to Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, alongside some old favorites which are getting facelifts. These updates are currently being tested in a limited-test beta. The first set of maps comprises upgrade and touchstone maps that will see no major changes to gameplay, while others have been fully rebuilt or overhauled with the new Source 2 tools.
Overpass is one of the maps that has been revamped to take advantage the new engine's unified illumination system. The map's dark underground has been filled with daylight to make it more spacious and less congested. Smoke grenades now expand dynamically to fill spaces and interact with the light.
Italy is another map that has been overhauled. Its lighting, texture, and structure have all been greatly improved. The new version is also more balanced than its predecessor which was heavily CT-oriented. Fans can anticipate a few more classics, such as Aztec and Militia which will be updated in the future.
While many of these maps are still playable in other modes, they're not added to the map pool for competitive play. Train is the exception because it has been removed from Active Duty but will still be played in tournaments. Valve has not yet confirmed if the other maps removed from the pool will be reinstated.
One of the most controversial updates is one created by Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's national newspaper. The newspaper has been active in its criticism of Russia's actions against Ukraine. The map is based on the conflict-ravaged Donetsk. The map is called de_voyna and contains numerous references to the conflict.
The developer will release a collection of Source 2 Tools for map makers in the future. This will include features like improved lighting and character read and physically-based rendering that produces realistic textures, materials and reflections. It will also make real-world objects like doors and windows, simpler to create. The update will be released in the summer of this year.
